Q: In which countries is DPN available?
A: DPN is currently available only in The Netherlands. All the numbers (for calling, receiving calls and SMS settings) are the numbers in The Netherlands, thus, from international perspective – should be preceded with +31 prefix.
Q: Is DPN subscription-based service?
A: DPN does not ask for a subscription. Number assignment is free – anyone may apply for a DPN number. However, to use the number, one must buy pre-paid call-switch credits from DPN.
Q: What are the costs connected to using DPN?
A: DPN is charging it’s switching services about 7ct/min (depending on the prepaid size, can be less).
This applies to both outgoing and incoming calls. We are asking this price not just in order to maintain our switching service, but also because each call (both incoming and outgoing) costs us as well. Switched calls are originating from our PBX, and we must pay for them, too. In order to maintain the privacy of your number for incoming calls, we must call you from our switch. In order to preserve the privacy of your outgoing call, we must execute this call from you towards 3rd party.
Thus, part of this cost is covering the expenses with telecoms, and part for maintaining our service.
Q: What if I don’t want to be disturbed at all on my DPN number for the timebeing?
A: There are numerous DnD (Do not Disturb) options for your DPN number available. You may set them universally or even per-day so that your phone is reachable in one way over work-days and another over the weekend. Also, if you’ve specified your e-mail address, you may receive voicemail-to-email from those callers. In the last case, you will simply get wave files as attachments from DPN, with voicemails from people calling you while DnD rules are enabled.
