Many web-site forms ask for your number, keep it private

Free lance jobs can initiate privacy nightmare, prevent it

Use Case 1

When you need to leave your phone number somewhere (online), and you want to protect your privacy

Whether you are acting as a (free-lance) professional or as a private person, you always wish to have a certain level of your privacy and some time when you are not reachable (or are reachable with reasonable limits). Use your DPN number as a professional or private gateway to you in any conceivable occasion.

In many cases, you need to leave your phone-number to a company, institution or a co-worker/customer, but you don’t want your privacy infringed. In this case, leave your DPN-number, together with the dial-in gateway, and that company or person will reach you in a similar manner as if they were calling some big company and dialing your extension. Your number is kept completely private, and you received the call.

Use Case 2

When you wish to call someone but you do not want to expose your private phone number

There is quite a number of cases when you want to call someone without exposing of your number: For example, when attempting to buy something on a peer-marketplace website (like eBay or Marktplaats), when contacting someone for the first time on a dating-site, or asking for information from a company and you don’t want to be called later directly for marketing purposes…

In all these cases, and many more, you can use DirectBusinessNumber. From our (web)app you simply dial the target number and DPN’s gateway number is exposed to the callee. If you decide you wish they call you back, you do simply like in Case 1 (above) – give them the gateway number and your “extension” (your DPN number) and they can reach you without even knowing your mobile number.

Use Case 3

When you’d rather receive voicemails by email, instead of your phone operator’s voicemail inbox

In some cases, you know that you don’t even want to receive the call from some party directly, but want to receive information from them. If so, you may always leave them your DPN number (+the gateway no.) and set your incoming calls to go directly to voicemail.

DPN’s voicemail is delivered to the email address of your choice (this email address you may specify on app-start, or later in the settings). This way, your voicemail is delivered to that specified email and easy to archive/store. It is delivered as an attachment (standard Wave-file).
